"Pottery, like life, is shaped by hands, time, and patience."

Upcoming events.

I have found a brand new and growing love for teaching pottery to children and adults alike. I now teach and sell my work at Mudslingers Pottery Studio in Huntingdon, Tennessee. On this calendar you will find unique events to the town of Huntingdon as well as personal events I may be attending. I am constantly prepping for these awesome classes and events and it is an amazing way to meet fellow creators and business owners!

There is something so intimate and personal about eating and drinking out of a vessel made by someone else’s hands. An artist shaped and formed and perfected the piece specifically for the use of others. Clay itself is such an amazing medium and wonderful symbolism for creation and the way that God molds us from useless lumps as well. I am constantly experimenting with creating new functional and decorative pieces so keep checking back in for new store updates.

FAQs

Why does it take 2-3 weeks before I can pick up my piece?

Each piece is handcrafted and some are carved in a long process of making a finished piece. First I throw the vessel on the wheel which is the quickest part. Then is must dry slowly so as it doesn’t crack (24 hours) Once it and about 20-30 other pieces are dry then they go in the kiln for their first firing which takes 8 hours to cook and then an additional 10 hours to cool to room temperature. Then it is time for glazing (how they get the gorgeous colors). The glazing process could take up to 2 or 3 days because each piece gets multiple layers and they must dry fully before adding a new layer. Each step in this beautiful process is slow and patient which is another reason why I love it; it cannot be forced or rushed. Lastly they go in for the glaze firing which is another 12+ hours heating and cooling.

Can I order a custom Piece?

You can always reach out and ask about a custom piece, however due to the amount of time I spend prepping and teaching classes I usually don’t accept custom orders.

Where can i find your pottery?

I am currently working, teaching and selling out of Mudslingers Studio on the Court Square in Huntingdon, TN. I am also collaborating with a few wonderful small businesses and they sell my products in their store. Check out Wild Roots Plants on Facebook and on Instagram. I make planters specifically for her business so if you are looking for a planter that is the place. I also sell my mugs, house decor and wedding registry type of items at Madi&Co. You can find her store on her website and on her Instagram.

I ordered a mug on the site but it looks different in person.

Some of my pieces will allow for buying multiple quantities of them. If that is the case then the image will give you the idea of color and style, however due to the nature of it being handmade and the unpredictability of glazes each and every piece will be completely unique! Which is super exciting. You never have to worry about someone else having the exact same one.

Follow on my journey.
